The summer flight schedule, effective from Sunday, March 30, and valid until October 25, will provide passengers with an expanded selection of flights, both in terms of destinations and airlines. The introduction of two new carriers and increased flight frequencies on some routes will significantly enhance Slovenia’s connectivity with the world. After the winter break, all connections from last year’s summer season will return. At the peak of the season, 24 airlines will operate more than 170 flights per week to 26 destinations.
KLM opens new global travel opportunities via Amsterdam
Starting March 30, KLM will offer daily flights to Amsterdam, significantly improving connectivity to this major hub. Combined with flights operated by Transavia, passengers will be able to fly to Amsterdam up to 11 times per week. From Schiphol Airport, travelers will have convenient connections to a vast network of global destinations. The flights will be operated using Embraer 190 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Departure from Ljubljana is scheduled daily at 12:35 PM.
New low-cost connection to Düsseldorf with Eurowings
From April 12, Eurowings will enhance low-cost travel options with three weekly flights to Düsseldorf. In addition to direct flights, this route will offer passengers access to Eurowings’ extensive low-cost network, especially to popular European holiday destinations and capitals. The flights will be operated using an Airbus A319, departing on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:50 PM and on Sundays at 11:20 AM.
This connection is supported by Slovenia’s state incentives as part of the Public Call for Improved Air Connectivity, one of the first measures to enhance Slovenia’s flight network. Thanks to government support, Ljubljana Airport has already gained additional routes operated by Luxair to Luxembourg, airBaltic to Riga, and Norwegian to Copenhagen.
Turkish Airlines, British Airways and SWISS Airlines increasing flight frequencies
A major boost to connectivity will come from Turkish Airlines, which will increase its flights to Istanbul to 18 weekly frequencies starting in June. Additionally, British Airways will resume flights from March 30, gradually increasing service to London Heathrow to eight weekly flights from June onward. SWISS Airlines is also increasing the number of flights to Zurich, with the summer schedule offering 12 flights per week.
Several seasonal routes will resume service after the winter break, including:
"In the 2025 summer schedule, Ljubljana Airport will have strengthened connectivity with an expanded range of destinations, airlines, and number of flights. We will welcome two new carriers – KLM and Eurowings – bringing the total number of scheduled airlines in our network to a record 24. Passengers will also benefit from more frequent flights by Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, British Airways to London Heathrow and SWISS Airlines to Zurich, providing even more convenient global connections via these hubs. These enhancements in the summer season will support further passenger growth, with around 1.5 million travelers expected by the end of the year," said Dr. Babett Stapel, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija, as the airport transitions to the summer schedule.
The full schedule for the 2025 summer season will include the following routes and flight frequencies:
